Bugs:
The game has lots of bugs. Most are minor and don't cause trouble.
It's recommended that you upgrade to V1.11 of the game. Once done,
these are the more obvious remaining bugs.
1. When firing the napalm launcher, you can catch fire.
2. A monster on fire sometimes won't die but just keeps running
around; even falling into water won't put it out.
3. Some monsters make wrong sounds, especially when dying.
4. Monsters don't drown.
5. Weapons work the same under water as they do on dry land.
6. You can shoot the napalm weapon and the projectile goes straight
through the enemy to explode somewhere behind. Trying again works.
7. On level E4M5 the skull key can be randomly missing. You'll
have to cheat to get it.
8. On level E4M6 there's some doors that will trap you when they close.
You'll have to restore, or cheat your way out.
9. On level E4M9 you phase into the ceiling just as you're about to
jump up to end the level.
10. Random and quite unexpected crashing. Save your game often.
11. If you save a game to a new slot, then decide to overwrite that slot
with another savegame, it won't let you keep or edit the old name.
You have to type it out in full every time.
Make sure that you do the upgrade while in Dosbox (or real DOS). Doing
it under Windows 9x will report success, but the result won't work. Also
you may as well download the cut-scenes and get them running properly.
You can set the game up under Dosbox, and then copy it over to your
Windows 98 machine, where it will work just fine, better than Dosbox.

DOSBOX:
You can run the game under Dosbox, but due to even more bugs it becomes
quite a challenge. Save your game every few minutes.
1. Sometimes when starting, the sound system won't start up. Try it
again and it should work.
2. Random crashing that doesn't happen in plain DOS or Windows 98. The
most common crash is because it runs out of memory at the end of a level.
3. If you get strangled by the Hand, you can normally hit Space about
5 to 10 times to shake it off. But this doesn't work under Dosbox so
when one of these things grabs you, it's GAME OVER. It's especially
a problem in the later levels when there's dozens of these mini monsters
lurking around. If you're in God Mode you'll survive, but the screen
grows dark so you can't see a thing making it useless to continue.

Hints:
1. Turn on the crosshairs.
2. You can kill small animals and spiders by jumping on them.
3. On level 4 of each episode there's a secret exit, which takes you to a
bonus level.
4. Use the Tesla weapon (8) to quickly dispose of the grey stone gargoyles.
5. Use dynamite (6) or napalm (5) to kill the Hands before they can strangle you.
6. The pitchfork (1) works against the screaming ghosts and the undead creepy guys.
You may need to knock down these zombies up to 3 times before they are truly dead.
7. When you kill a zombie, the head may fly off and bounce around. You can play
football with the heads by kicking them around. They bounce quite well.
8. Just like in Doom, there's no scoring, and the different species can attack each
other.
9. The napalm weapon is a lot of fun. There's lots of things to blow up or smash.
Release your inner vandal!
10. On level E4M8 you need to use the shotgun (weapon 3) to shoot the wall-mounted
carved head. If you succeed, you'll hear a deep laugh and a wall opens up.
11. Although episode 5 can be enabled in the menu, don't bother. There's almost no
monsters, and no exits.
